Scripps College receives donations every year to support our named scholarship program. These donations make up part of the funding that allows Scripps to provide Scripps Grants for students who qualify for need-based financial aid. The information you provide us in this Scholarship Grant Recipient Form will be used to match you to a particular scholarship which will replace some or all of your Scripps Grant. We will also use this information to share with our donors so that they continue to support scholarships at Scripps. 


If you are chosen for a named scholarship, you will receive an email informing you of the scholarship(s) you have received. In this email you will be asked to write a thank you note to the donor(s) of your particular scholarship. Students who have been awarded a Scripps Grant, or are receiving a QuestBridge, New Generation, or the Margo Leonetti O'Connell '64 Scholarship, *MUST* complete this form.


*Please note that named scholarships replace some or all of your Scripps Grant and will not replace loan or work awards and cannot be used to reduce estimated family contributions.

Supplemental Opportunity Questions

Bekki Lee Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2013 through the generosity of Bekki's friends and family in memory of her contribution to Scripps College as Dean of Students and to celebrate her lifelong commitment to education, access and inclusivity.


This award is given to a deserving sophomore, junior and/or senior who had made significant efforts to enhance the Scripps community through supporting education, access and inclusivity. Finalists will also be selected on academic achievement and community engagement and responsibility.


Award:

Up to $6,000 in need-based loan replacement. Please note: applicants must be a need-based aid recipient with loans in their financial aid package to qualify.

Ellen Clark Revelle Scholarship (The "Nellie")

This scholarship was established in 2010 in memory of this beloved alumna of Scripps College's first graduating class of 1931 and former trustee.


It is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior who is making excellent academic progress, fully engages in the Scripps College community and beyond through leadership activities, and demonstrates financial need. This scholarship is awarded through an application and interview process.


Award:

Up to $14,000 in need based loan repayment and additional funding for certain expenses related to the student's Scripps education. Please note applicants must be a need-based aid recipient with loans on their financial aid package to qualify. Contact Financial Aid if you have additional information.

Samella Lewis Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2002 in honor of Professor Emerita Samella Lewis, internationally recognized artist, art historian, education and community leader. Dr. Lewis was Scripps College's first tenured African American faculty member and was professor of Art History at Scripps from 1969 through 1984. During her tenure, she inspired those who came into contact with her in countless ways.


This scholarship is awarded to a student who identifies as African American and is in their junior or senior year. Students are evaluated on the basis of scholastic achievement, excellence in character, leadership, and responsibility.


Award:

Up to $4,500 in need-based loan repayment upon graduation. Please note applicants must be a need-based aid recipient with loans in their financial aid packages to qualify.
